Yes, renting a sports car in Dubai is legal. You need a valid driving license that the RTA accepts, and you must meet the rental company’s age rule. At Prox Rentals, that means 23 or older, or 20 to 22 with management approval.
The process is simple. Here is what you need, and what to expect when you rent from us.
Who Can Rent a Sports Car
Two things decide it: your license and your age.
Your license must be valid and accepted by the RTA. The RTA is Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.
Your age must meet the rental company’s rule. Each company sets its own, so always ask.
Our Age Rule
- 23 or older: you can rent.
- 20 to 22: you can rent with management approval.
- Under 20: we do not rent to you.
The same rule applies to every car, sports cars included.
Documents You Need
Tourists
- Passport.
- A valid driving license.
You can drive on any license the RTA accepts on the day. You can also drive on an International Driving Permit together with your home license.

Insurance
All our cars are fully insured.
If the police report shows an accident was not your fault, you pay nothing towards it. If it is your fault, you pay an excess based on the car. Our team confirms the excess for your car before you book.
After an accident, call the police and get a police report. Then call or WhatsApp us. Our public relations officer helps with the police and the paperwork.
We also offer 24/7 roadside assistance with a replacement car.
Driving Rules to Respect
Dubai’s traffic rules are strict and well enforced. Follow the posted speed limits and road signs.
Wear your seatbelt, and do not use a phone while you drive. Never drink and drive.
If you get a traffic fine, it is billed at actual amount. No markup, no admin fee. No black points on your license.
Salik is charged at the current RTA rate for each crossing, with nothing added. No admin fee.
