These terms apply to every rental from Prox Rentals, operated by Prox Car Rental LLC. We confirm the car, the price and the terms before you book.
1. Drivers and documents
- Drivers must be 23 or older. Drivers aged 20 to 22 need management approval. We do not rent to drivers under 20. The same rule applies to every car.
- Additional drivers are approved by management before the rental.
- Tourists: passport and a valid driving license. You can drive on any license the RTA accepts on the day, or on an International Driving Permit together with your home license.
- UAE residents: Emirates ID (front and back) and a UAE driving license.
- Not sure about your license? Send us a photo and we will tell you. Our staff check the documents at handover.
2. Rates and payment
- Every rate is shown excluding VAT, with 5% VAT added. For example: AED 99 a day + 5% VAT.
- A car with no published rate shows “Rate on WhatsApp”.
- The rental can be paid in cash or by card. The security hold is a separate step.
- No hidden charges. Every cost is shared with you before you book. Your bill can include only the rate, 5% VAT, Salik crossings, traffic fines from your rental and extra kilometers above your allowance.
3. Security hold
- A refundable security hold applies to daily and weekly rentals: AED 1,000 for UAE residents and AED 1,500 for tourists. The amount depends on the customer, not the car.
- There is no deposit for monthly rentals.
- The hold is placed on a credit card. It is not charged, only held by your bank. Debit cards are not accepted. A cash deposit is accepted instead of the card hold.
- Your bank releases the hold about 15 working days after you return the car, on the bank’s own timing.
- We do not keep card details. Card holds are made on our own card terminal.
4. Mileage
| Rental | Economy cars | Luxury cars |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | 250 km a day | 200 km a day |
| Weekly | 1,400 km a week | 1,400 km a week |
| Monthly | up to 4,000 km a month | up to 4,000 km a month |
| Extra km | AED 1.85 per km | AED 4.85 per km |
Premium and luxury brands, premium hatchbacks (Golf R, Golf GTI, Mini) and sports cars are luxury cars. Mainstream cars and mainstream 4x4s (Fortuner, Hilux, Xterra, Wrangler, Bronco, Jimny, Pathfinder) are economy cars.
5. Fuel
Full to full: you receive the car with a full tank and return it full.
6. Salik (road tolls)
Salik is charged at the current RTA rate for each crossing, with nothing added. No admin fee. Every rental car has a Salik tag, and each crossing is added to the final bill at the RTA’s rate on that day.
7. Traffic fines
Traffic fines: billed at actual amount. No markup, no admin fee. You pay exactly what the authority charged. No black points on your license.
8. Insurance and accidents
- All our cars are fully insured.
- If the police report shows the accident was not your fault, you pay nothing towards it, and we stand by that. If it is your fault, you pay an excess based on the car. Our team confirms the excess for your car before you book.
- After an accident, call the police and get a police report, then call or WhatsApp us. Our public relations officer helps with the police and the paperwork.
- We offer 24/7 roadside assistance with a replacement car.
- Routine maintenance is included on monthly rentals.
9. Delivery, collection and cancellation
- Delivery is free anywhere in Dubai, with no minimum rental, and we deliver within 20 minutes.
- You can also collect the car from our office.
- Free cancellation any time before handover. No minimum rental period.
10. Travel to Oman
Driving to Oman is allowed only with prior approval. You need Oman insurance and documents, and we need 2 days’ notice.
11. Reservations
Reservations go by WhatsApp or phone and are confirmed by a person. This website has no booking forms, no payment page, no customer accounts and no online checkout. It never collects card details or identity documents.
