Car Rental FAQs
Answers to the questions customers ask us most. Every answer follows our rental terms.
How much does it cost to rent a car in Dubai with Prox Rentals?
Rates start from AED 99 a day, AED 623 a week and AED 1,474 a month, plus 5% VAT. Every rate is shown excluding VAT, with “+ 5% VAT” beside it. Cars with no published rate show “Rate on WhatsApp”.
Is there a security deposit?
A refundable security hold applies to daily and weekly rentals: AED 1,000 for UAE residents and AED 1,500 for tourists. There is no deposit for monthly rentals.
Can I pay the security hold with a debit card?
No. The hold is placed on a credit card, or you can leave a cash deposit instead. Debit cards are not accepted for the hold.
When do I get my security hold back?
Your bank releases the hold about 15 working days after you return the car, on the bank’s own timing. We have a 100% satisfaction record for returning deposits on time.
What is the minimum age to rent a car?
23 or older. Drivers aged 20 to 22 need management approval. We do not rent to drivers under 20. The same rule applies to every car.
What documents do I need?
Tourists need a passport and a valid driving license, or an International Driving Permit together with their home license. UAE residents need an Emirates ID (front and back) and a UAE driving license. Not sure about your license? Send us a photo and we will tell you.
How many kilometers are included?
Economy cars include 250 km a day and luxury cars 200 km a day. Weekly rentals include 1,400 km a week, and monthly rentals up to 4,000 km a month. Extra kilometers cost AED 1.85 per km for economy cars and AED 4.85 per km for luxury cars.
How is Salik charged?
Salik is charged at the current RTA rate for each crossing, with nothing added. No admin fee.
How are traffic fines handled?
Traffic fines are billed at the actual amount. No markup, no admin fee. No black points on your license.
Are the cars insured?
All our cars are fully insured. If the police report shows an accident was not your fault, you pay nothing towards it. If it is your fault, you pay an excess based on the car, and our team confirms that excess before you book.
What happens if I have an accident?
Call the police and get a police report, then call or WhatsApp us. Our public relations officer helps with the police and the paperwork. We offer 24/7 roadside assistance with a replacement car.
Do you deliver the car?
Yes. Delivery is free anywhere in Dubai, with no minimum rental, and we deliver within 20 minutes. You can also collect the car from our office.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Free cancellation any time before handover. There is no minimum rental period.
What is the fuel policy?
Full to full: you receive the car with a full tank and return it full.
Can I drive the car to Oman?
Only with prior approval. You need Oman insurance and documents, and we need 2 days’ notice.
Do you offer a chauffeur?
No. We rent self-drive cars only.
How do I book?
Message us on WhatsApp or call +971 50 379 6333. A person confirms the car, the price and the terms before you book. A human answers 24/7.
Where is your office?
Our office is at Al Asayel St, Al Thanyah Fourth, Dubai.
Is the car in the photos the car I get?
What you see is what you get. Car pages show real photos of our own cars, and you get the model, year and color shown. Each listing stands for 3 to 4 identical cars, so the plate may differ.
