To rent an SUV in Dubai as a tourist, you need your passport and a valid driving license. UAE residents need their Emirates ID (front and back) and a UAE driving license. At Prox Rentals, the same documents apply to every car, from a compact SUV to a large 4×4.

Tourists can drive on any license the RTA accepts on the day. You can also drive on an International Driving Permit together with your home license.

Age Rules
Drivers must be 23 or older. Drivers aged 20 to 22 need management approval. We do not rent to drivers under 20.
The same rule applies to every car, so a large SUV has no higher age limit. Additional drivers are approved by management before the rental.
How Your Documents Are Checked
Prox Rentals staff check your documents at handover. Our website never collects identity documents or card details.
Delivery is free anywhere in Dubai, with no minimum rental, and we deliver within 20 minutes. Keep your documents with you when the car arrives.
Driving to Oman
Oman is allowed only with prior approval. You need Oman insurance and documents, and we need 2 days’ notice.

The Security Hold
A refundable security hold applies to daily and weekly rentals. It is AED 1,000 for UAE residents and AED 1,500 for tourists. The amount depends on you, not on the car.
- The hold goes on a credit card. It is not charged, only held by your bank.
- Debit cards are not accepted. A cash deposit is accepted instead of the card hold.
- The bank releases it about 15 working days after return, on the bank’s own timing.
- There is no deposit for monthly rentals.
The rental itself can be paid in cash or by card. The security hold is a separate step.

Once your documents are ready, pick the car. Our SUV rental page lists every model with its rate. For example, the Kia Sportage 2024 is AED 169 a day + 5% VAT.
