Yes. At Prox Rentals, monthly rentals have no deposit. Daily and weekly rentals have a refundable security hold of AED 1,000 for UAE residents or AED 1,500 for tourists. You can leave a cash deposit instead of a card hold.
Here is how the hold works, when you can skip it and what to check before you agree to any deposit terms.
Monthly Rentals: No Deposit
If you rent for a month, nothing is held on your card. Monthly rentals start from AED 1,474 a month + 5% VAT.
They also include up to 4,000 km a month and routine maintenance. This makes them a good fit for long stays and new UAE residents.

Daily and Weekly Rentals: A Refundable Hold
For daily and weekly rentals, a refundable security hold applies. The amount depends on you, not on the car.

How the Hold Is Placed
- The hold is placed on a credit card. It is not charged, only held by your bank.
- Debit cards are not accepted for the hold.
- A cash deposit is accepted instead of the card hold.
- Card holds are made on our own card terminal. We do not keep your card details.
The hold is a separate step from paying for the rental. The rental itself can be paid in cash or by card.
When You Get It Back
The bank releases the hold about 15 working days after you return the car, on the bank’s own timing.
We have a 100% satisfaction record for returning deposits on time.
What Can Your Bill Include?
Your bill can include only the rate, 5% VAT, Salik crossings, traffic fines from your rental and extra kilometers above your allowance.
- Salik is charged at the current RTA rate for each crossing, with nothing added. No admin fee.
- Traffic fines: billed at actual amount. No markup, no admin fee.
- Extra kilometers: AED 1.85 per km on economy cars, AED 4.85 per km on luxury cars.
No hidden charges. Every cost is shared with you before you book.
What About Accidents?
All our cars are fully insured. If the police report shows the accident was not your fault, you pay nothing towards it.
If it is your fault, you pay an excess based on the car. Our team confirms the excess for your car before you book.
Tips Before You Agree to Any Deposit Terms
- Ask for the exact amount. Know what will be held, and whether it changes by car or by customer.
- Ask how it is held. Check which cards are accepted and whether cash is an option.
- Ask when it is released. Get a clear time frame in writing.
- Ask what can be deducted. Check how tolls, fines and extra kilometers are billed.
