The lowest-cost way to rent a car in Dubai is a small economy sedan or SUV, rented for as long as you need it. At Prox Rentals, rates start from AED 99 a day + 5% VAT. Weekly and monthly rentals bring the cost per day down further.
A cheap rate is only half the story. The real cost also depends on mileage, fuel, Salik and the deposit. This guide covers both.

Rent for Longer to Pay Less per Day
The longer you rent, the lower the cost per day.
- Daily: from AED 99 a day + 5% VAT. No minimum rental period.
- Weekly: from AED 623 a week + 5% VAT. Lower per day than daily rentals.
- Monthly: from AED 1,474 a month + 5% VAT. No deposit. Up to 4,000 km a month and routine maintenance included.

What Makes the Total Cost Low
Mileage
Check how many kilometers are included. Our economy cars include 250 km a day. Each extra kilometer costs AED 1.85. Weekly rentals include 1,400 km a week.
Fuel
Our fuel rule is full to full. You receive the car with a full tank and return it full. A smaller car usually uses less fuel, which keeps this cost down.
Salik and Fines
Salik is charged at the current RTA rate for each crossing, with nothing added. No admin fee. Traffic fines are billed at the actual amount, with no markup.
Delivery
Delivery is free anywhere in Dubai, with no minimum rental, and we deliver within 20 minutes.
Security Hold
Daily and weekly rentals have a refundable security hold. It is AED 1,000 for UAE residents and AED 1,500 for tourists. It goes on a credit card, or you can leave a cash deposit. Monthly rentals have no deposit.
Mistakes That Make a Cheap Rental Expensive
- Not asking about extra charges. Ask for every cost before you book. With us, your bill can include only the rate, 5% VAT, Salik crossings, traffic fines from your rental and extra kilometers.
- Not reading the agreement. Check the fuel rule, the mileage and what you pay after an accident.
- Skipping the car check. Look the car over at handover. Take photos of any marks before you drive away.
- Going over your mileage. Plan long drives so you stay within your allowance.
